Half Silk Birthdays

Happy Birthday to my mom! This was the birthday cake I made for her. I baked it from a mix, made the icing from scratch, and decorated it with strawberries with the help of Jupiter. Her birthday was actually a while ago, in July, but we can still celebrate! She was saying that we could celebrate all year! I’m fine with that, more birthdays, more birthday cake! (The cake is my favorite part of birthdays!)

My mom has some crazy dreams, and in one, my dad said to her that I wanted her to know that it was my half silk birthday. We weren’t sure what that was, but she had the dream 16 days after my birthday. So a Half Silk is 16 days after your birthday, and a Full Silk is 32 days after. Technically, the silk birthdays can keep on going, but we stop it at full silk.

Two Left Feet

I ordered a pair of shoes from Zappos and got TWO LEFT SHOES! You could say I have two left feet. :) I wonder how they could screw something up like that…

Rainbow

It’s a little hard to see, but it’s there. After a short summer rainshower, this came about, so I took a picture!

Wizarding Wrock

The Harry Potter craze has just begun! The last movie “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2″ has recently came out and has fans going crazy. Fans will do anything, such as making wizarding rock “wrock” bands. My personal favorite band is “Draco and the Malfoys”, but there are many, many others. Some of them have names that reflect their favorite character such as Harry and the Potters, The Moaning Myrtles, and The Whomping Willows. Some involve things that are in the Wizarding World, such as The Parselmouths. Go to realwizardwrock.com to see lyrics for songs or Youtube to search for songs. Hat Day!

Happy Hat Day! Last Wednesday it was Hat Day at my camp. You make a hat and then by group, a winner (or 2 or 3) gets chosen. The winner gets eternal glory and… SKITTLES!!! I didn’t win, but everyone thinks I should’ve. I bought a pack anyways. ;) I called it: Wok Star! It’s cuz it’s a wok. And I made stir-fry out of Play-Doh!

The Lorax

When we were in Orlando, we went to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure. That was where the Harry Potter world was. But right before that, was Seuss Landing, where everything rhymed and was colorful and was really fun even though it’s meant for little kids. And there was this little section called “The Street of the Lifted Lorax” and it told parts of the story of The Lorax.

Then I read the story and it’s about a person called the Once-ler who cut down Truffula trees and used them to make Thneeds (something that looks like a Snuggie). Then the Lorax kept on protesting him and eventually, it got so bad, the Lorax left.  Then the Once-ler (who is telling the story to a little boy), gives him the last Truffula seed and tells him to re-plant it “so the Lorax and all of his friends may come back.”

It is a very environmental story (and I’m in my school’s Environmental Club) and of course, it all rhymes!

IT’S SUMMER!!!!!

I haven’t been posting much because we went to Orlando right after school ended. And because of being gone that week without a computer, the 1st anniversary of The Bunny Box, June 12, has past! YAY! So, I’ve been going to a performing arts camp, but also has things like visual arts and sports. This year, the musical is Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, originally a book and a parody of Pride and Predjudice.

I had this bunny rattle since I was young enough to HAVE a rattle, and for some reason I named her Cheesecake. Maybe I ate cheesecake that day or I wanted cheesecake that day… I don’t know.
